Juande Romero: website without WordPress to sell a book, and book layout
A custom website, without WordPress, to sell a practical guide online: payment gateway, client area, admin panel, integrated social media and the book layout.

The project
Juande Romero has spent more than 20 years helping people with their eating and works individually through an online advisory service. His next step was to write “¿Por qué no puedo parar de comer?”, a practical guide that explains what lies behind the urge to eat and offers tools to manage it. A book like this needs two things done well: an interior that is comfortable to read and a website that sells it.
We took care of both. On one side, the book layout: the guide is organised in six parts that run from the most immediate —the urge to eat right now— to the deepest —the behavioural pattern. On the other, a custom website without WordPress: a dark, powerful page with a yellow accent and condensed headlines that tells the problem, presents the guide and the method and leads the visitor to the purchase with a launch offer and a countdown.
Behind the website there is a complete system, not just a pretty page: Stripe's payment gateway, a client area with registration and login, an admin panel, links to social media and to a real interview on Instagram, and the legal pages required to sell online. Everything is custom-built, with no third-party plugins or templates.
The challenge
Launching a book is a project with two halves that have to look like one: the book and the website that sells it. The challenge was for the layout and the website to speak the same visual language, for the purchase to be direct —with no intermediaries— and for the author to have their own panel and client area, without depending on WordPress or plugins.
What we did
- Custom website without WordPress. A one-piece page developed from scratch: light, secure and with no third-party plugins or templates.
- Design with its own identity. A dark background, yellow accent, condensed headlines and clean text, with the front and back cover of the book as the stars of the header.
- Structure designed to sell. The problem, the guide in six parts, the method, the author, real cases, what it includes, who it is and is not for, and frequently asked questions: each section takes you one step closer to the decision.
- Launch offer with countdown. The launch price next to the regular price and a counter to the date on which the price goes up.
- Payment gateway. The “Quiero el libro” button connects to Stripe Checkout to pay online securely.
- Client area. Registration and login with email and password for buyers, available from the website menu.
- Admin panel. A panel of its own to manage the website and clients without depending on WordPress.
- Social media integration. Links to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp, and access from the website to a real case interview on Instagram.
- Legal pages. Legal notice, privacy, cookies, returns and site map, essential for selling online.
- Book layout. The guide is composed in six parts, from the immediate to the deep, with the same look as the website.
- Adaptive design. The website looks and works well on mobile, tablet and computer.

How to sell a book online with a website of your own
Selling a book or a digital guide from a website of your own has a clear advantage: control. You do not depend on the rules or commissions of a third-party platform, you own the relationship with your buyers and you can take care of every detail of the journey, from the first headline to the payment. In return, the website has to do its job well: tell the problem in the reader's own words, show the product, answer doubts —that is what a good FAQ section is for— and make buying possible in as few steps as possible.
That is why a custom website works better than a template: the structure is designed to sell that specific book, the code is light —it loads fast, on mobile too— and there are no plugins to update or inherited security holes. If you want to see the differences, see our custom website without WordPress service and, if you prefer to manage the content yourself, web design with WordPress.
The other half is the book. Good layout decides whether the reader reaches the end: a clear hierarchy of headings, comfortable margins and line spacing, pages with rhythm and a design consistent with the cover and with the website. When book and website share an identity, the reader recognises the brand at every point of contact. For cover design and brand image, see our graphic design and branding service and, to take your book to Amazon, Amazon Seller management.
Social media completes the journey: a link to Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp turns the website into the centre of your communication, and a linked video or interview builds trust before the purchase. If you need help promoting your launch, see our social media for businesses.
How we approach a project like this
Understanding the book and its reader
We talk about the book, who it is aimed at and what anyone arriving at the website should think and do.
Structure of the website and the book
We define the sections of the website and the structure of the book by parts.
Design and layout
We design the website with its own identity and lay out the book in the same visual line, with reviews together with you.
Custom development: payments, client area and panel
We program the website without WordPress and connect the payment gateway, the client area and the admin panel.
Testing and launch
We test the whole purchase journey on different devices and publish with the legal pages and social media connected.
What we delivered
A custom website without WordPress, ready to sell, with a payment gateway, client area, admin panel and integrated social media, and the book laid out with the same identity.

Frequently asked questions about websites for selling books and book layout
Can a book be sold from a website of your own without WordPress?
Yes. A custom website can include its own payment gateway, client area and admin panel with no third-party plugins. It is what we did for Juande Romero.
What does book layout include?
Setting the text in pages, the hierarchy of headings and subheadings, margins and line spacing, a design consistent with the cover and the final file for the printer or for reading on screen. The exact scope is agreed in the quote.
Can I take payments online from my website?
Yes: with a gateway such as Stripe, payment is made online securely. We integrate it into the custom website and the customer receives confirmation of their purchase.
How much does a custom website with a payment gateway cost?
The development of a custom website starts at €500 + VAT, and there may be a current offer with a lower price. Features such as the payment gateway, the client area or the admin panel are quoted separately, always in writing and before starting.
Can the website be integrated with social media?
Yes: links to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or WhatsApp and content such as interviews or videos linked from the website itself.
Do you also design the book cover?
Yes. We design front and back covers; you can see examples in Creer es crear and Entre el Universo y yo.
